Philipp Steiner (born December 20, 1986 ) is an Austrian football player on the position of midfielder .

Career

youth

Steiner began his career in 1995 at SC Frauenkirchen in Burgenland . In 2001 he came to the Burgenland Academy, to which, apart from a short interlude in 2002 at USC Wallern, he belonged until 2005. In 2005 he was brought into the first team of SC Neusiedl am See .

Club career

After only one season in Neusiedl am See , he moved to Bundesliga club SV Mattersburg in 2006 , where he was consistently active in the second team until 2011 (playing in the Regionalliga Ost, the third highest Austrian division). In 2011 Steiner made his debut in the top Austrian division. On October 23, 2010 against SV Ried , the defender was substituted on for Macedonian Ilco Naumoski in the 74th minute. The game in Ried ended with a 3-1 away win.
