Philipp Wilhelm von Hutten zum Stolzenberg (born December 11, 1701 in Steinbach, today in Lohr am Main , † January 22, 1757 in Würzburg ) was a canon of the Roman Catholic Church .

Life

Philipp Wilhelm von Hutten came from the imperial knighthood of the von Hutten family , who had already produced several bishops. He was the son of Baron Franz Ludwig von Hutten zu Stolzenberg, bailiff in Homburg on the Werra and later Imperial Councilor and Würzburg senior bailiff in Gerolzhofen in Franconia , and Johanna Juliana, née von Bicken .

Philipp Wilhelm was appointed to the clergy at an early age. After he had received the minor orders on November 9, 1710, he was ordained a subdeacon on November 16, 1710 . In 1712 he was accepted into the Würzburg seminary for young aristocrats St. Killian College. The following year he was appointed canon by episcopal nomination on July 14th . After enrolling at the University of Würzburg in December 1718, he began his studies there. For further training he was given leave of absence for two years in 1720 at the Catholic theological faculty of the University of Erfurt . On December 12, 1722, he finished this phase of training in order to continue studying in Lower Germany .

Philipp already held canons at Hildesheim Cathedral from 1716 to 1717 and at Speyer Cathedral in 1717 and at St. Alban's Abbey near Mainz , so he was well looked after . On January 18, 1725 , he resigned from his offices. He became a Privy Councilor , Court Marshal and Oberamtmann in Karlstadt . On May 21, 1729 he married Maria Dorothea Carolina von Rotenhan zu Merzbach.

Philipp Wilhelm died in Würzburg in 1757.
