Philipp Georg Wilhelm von Cornberg (born June 13, 1759 in Minden , † October 19, 1811 ibid) was a landowner, canon and member of the Cornberg family .

Von Cornberg was the son of the chief president of the government in Halberstadt and dean of the Andreas Stift in Minden, Christian Ludwig von Cornberg (1716–1791) and his wife Sophie Henriette Helene, née von dem Bussche-Haldenhausen (1722–1785). He was of the Protestant denomination and connected to Elisabeth Schortmann († December 22, 1784), but not married. By the highest cabinet order of November 17, 1803, the natural son Von Cornberg, legitimized as Philipp Montegrain in 1801, and Elisabeth Schortmann were elevated to the Prussian nobility as "von Cornberg". His son Christian von Cornberg, formerly a colonel in Hesse, also received the right to use the title of baron in 1879. This branch of the family still exists today.

Life

Von Cornberg was Mr. zu Lübbecke , Falkendyk and Wietersheim . He attended the pedagogy in Ilfeld and in 1778 became canon, later provost and canon in Minden . From June 8, 1786 to April 10, 1798 he was Prussian District Administrator in the Principality of Minden . He left at his own request for health reasons. From June 2, 1808 to March 5, 1811 he was a member of the imperial estates of the Kingdom of Westphalia for the department of the Weser in the electoral group of landowners.
