Philippe Caillat

Philippe Caillat (born June 7, 1948 in Paris ; actually Philippe Caillat-Grenier ) is a French jazz guitarist and composer of fusion and modern jazz .

Caillat was educated at the conservatories of Paris and Montpellier , where he lived with his parents as a teenager. As a professional musician he has been active since the 1970s and initially worked in rock bands such as Frob . Caillat has been leading his own projects since 1979, with which he has toured France, Central Europe and Scandinavia and has released numerous albums. He played with musicians such as Jasper van't Hof , Charlie Mariano , Tony Lakatos , Joël Allouche , Jean-Louis Matinier , Doudou Gouirand , Nicolas Fiszman and Philippe Allaert .

Caillat has also composed film scores . He taught at the Ars Nova University in Paris until 1993 and then in Valenciennes and at the Munich Guitar Institute (MGI) in Cologne . In 1997 he was appointed to the Dortmund “Jazz Academy” by Glen Buschmann . With Bea Lanfranchi he wrote the cookbook “Recipes to Fall in Love” (2001).
