Philippe Guerdat (born April 21, 1952 ) is a former Swiss Nations Cup rider and head of the French show jumping team .
Career
At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles he was fifth in the saddle of Pybalia with the Swiss team. Four years later the team was seventh in Seoul , when Guerdat Lanciano was riding .
At the World Equestrian Games in Stockholm in 1990 , he finished 7th with the team and 29th in the individual.
At the 1985 European Championships in Dinard , he won the silver medal in the saddle of Pybalia with the Swiss team. Two years later the team won bronze in St. Gallen .
Philippe Guerdat has been the national show jumping trainer on several occasions: from 2006 to 2008 he was the trainer of the Ukrainian show jumpers, after which he trained the Spanish show jumpers. He was also a Swiss junior trainer and was the team boss of Belgian show jumpers until 2013 . In 2013, Guerdat took over the French national coaching position.
He is the father of the show jumper Steve Guerdat .
