Philippe Lussier

Philippe Lussier CSsR (born October 3, 1911 in Weedon , Le Haut-Saint-François , Québec ; † October 9, 1986 ) was a Canadian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Saint Paul in Alberta .

Life

Philippe Lussier entered the Redemptorist Order and made profession on August 15, 1932 . On September 18, 1937, he received the sacrament of ordination .

Pope Pius XII appointed him Bishop of Saint Paul in Alberta on June 16, 1952 . The Apostolic Delegate in Canada, Ildebrando Antoniutti , donated him episcopal ordination on August 17th of the same year; Co - consecrators were his predecessor Maurice Baudoux , Coadjutor Archbishop of Saint-Boniface , and the Archbishop of Edmonton , John Hugh MacDonald .

He participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .

On August 17, 1968, Pope Paul VI. his early resignation and appointed him titular bishop of Mutugenna . He renounced the titular seat with effect from December 15, 1970.
