Philippe Rukamba

Philippe Rukamba (born May 26, 1948 in Kabarondo , Rwanda ) is a Rwandan clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Butare .

Life

Philippe Rukamba received on 25 July 1974, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On January 2, 1997, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Butare. The bishop emeritus of Kibungo , Joseph Sibomana , donated him episcopal ordination on April 12 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Kibungo, Frédéric Rubwejanga , and the Bishop Emeritus of Butare, Jean-Baptiste Gahamanyi . From May 28, 2012 to November 26, 2014, he was also Apostolic Administrator of the Gikongoro Diocese during the Sedis vacancy .
