The diocese Kibungo ( lat. : Dioecesis Kibungensis ) is in Rwanda preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Kibungo .

history

The diocese of Kibungo was on September 5, 1968 by Pope Paul VI. established with the Apostolic Constitution Ecclesiam sanctam from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Kabgayi . The diocese of Kibungo gave on November 5, 1981 parts of its territory to establish the diocese Byumba .

The diocese of Kibungo is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Kigali as a suffragan .
