Philippseck (Butzbach)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Philippseck was a short-lived former community in what was then the Hessian district of Friedberg , which included the two neighboring towns of Fauerbach vor der Höhe and Münster and which became part of the city of Butzbach .

Geographical location

The municipality of Philippseck was in the west of the Wetterau on the border with the wooded Hintertaunus . Both districts of the community are located on the Fauerbach , a left northern tributary of the USA near Ober-Mörlen . The former Philippseck Palace above Münster and the associated office gave the community its name.

history

The municipality of Philippseck was created in the course of the regional reform in Hesse on December 31, 1970 through the voluntary amalgamation of the previously independent municipalities "Fauerbach vor der Höhe" and Münster to form a municipality with the name Philippseck. After only 13 months, this new formation was incorporated into the city of Butzbach on February 1, 1972 together with the municipality of Bodenrod on a voluntary basis.
