Pia Eidmann

Pia Eidmann (born August 26, 1984 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German hockey player . She plays for the Rot-Weiss Köln club . In addition, Pia Eidmann belongs to the A-squad of the German national hockey team and thus also to the German squad for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing .

National career

Pia Eidmann has been playing hockey since she was five. As a midfielder, she first played for SC Frankfurt 1880 and currently for Rot-Weiss Köln. In 2006 and 2007, Eidmann was German runner-up in the hall and second in the EuroHockey Club Champions Cup . In 2007 Pia Eidmann also became German champion in field hockey. In 2008 she was runner-up on the field.

International career

Pia Eidmann played her first game for the U16 national team on July 6, 2000 against the Netherlands. In 2004 she won the silver medal with the U21 national team at the European Championships in Dublin . A year later, she and the team took second place at the FIH Four Nations Tournament in Wujin and became vice world champion in Santiago de Chile .

On January 20, 2006, Pia Eidmann made her debut in the senior national team. With this she became European indoor champion in Eindhoven in the same year . This was followed in 2007 by two third places at the Champions Trophy in Quilmes and the World Indoor Championships in Vienna . She also became European champion in Manchester that year . With the national team she took part in the Olympic hockey tournament in Beijing and took 4th place.
