PIANO PARTICLES is a music project by the German composer, pianist and singer Steffen Wick .

history

Steffen Wick studied at the universities of music and performing arts in Stuttgart and Munich and soon discovered an interest in exploring musical forms without limits in style and aesthetics.

PIANO PARTICLES appears in various formations: from duo concerts with grand piano and electronics, in an enlarged line-up with string quartet and singer, to connection with a symphonic orchestra. Artists from the fields of dance , Cirque Nouveau and scenography developed different PIANO PARTICLES stage versions and several prominent choreographers - including Marco Goecke , Eric Gauthier and Tarek Assam - created dance interpretations of the PIANO PARTICLES soundscapes.

PIANO PARTICLES contributed several symphonic songs to the 3D animation film Manou the Swift with Kate Winslet and Willem Dafoe . The film was shown in cinemas in over 25 countries and the film music was awarded the German Film Music Prize in 2019 in the category "Best Music in Animated Film".
