The municipality of Pidu ( Chinese  郫 都 区 , Pinyin Pídū Qū , formerly Pi (郫县)) is a district in the northwest of the sub-provincial city of Chengdu in the Chinese province of Sichuan . It has an area of ​​437.5 km² and at the end of 2014 had around 8,173,000 inhabitants. It is bordered by Jinniu to the east, Wenjiang and Qingyang to the south, Dujiangyan to the west and Xindu and Pengzhou to the north .

The territory of Pidu is in the middle of the Chengdu Plain , so the relief is flat and irrigated by the Dujiangyan irrigation system . The climate is subtropical with an average annual temperature of 16.1 ° C and annual rainfall of 936 mm. In terms of traffic, it is accessed from the national road 213 .

Pidu is famous for its version of a paste called douban made from fermented beans (郫县 豆瓣). The Wangcong Temple (望 丛 祠) is the most significant architectural treasure in the district.

The district government is located in the Pitong Street District, which is about 20 km from Chengdu. The two street districts of Hezuo and Xiyuan are managed by the Chengdu City High-Tech Development Park, established in 2003.
