The city of Pengzhou ( Chinese  彭 州市 , Pinyin Péngzhōu Shì ) is an independent city in China , about 35 km northwest of the sub-provincial city of Chengdu , the capital of Sichuan Province , and west of Deyang . It has an area of ​​1,420 km² and has around 780,000 inhabitants.

Its sights include the Seminarium annuntiationis , which has been a listed building since 2006 , but which was largely destroyed in the severe earthquake in Wenchuan in 2008, as well as the Pengzhou Pagodas (彭州 佛塔, Pengzhou Fota) , which are also listed .

The "Mountain of the Immortal Ge" 葛仙 山 , Gexian Shan is an important site of religious Daoism .
