The Piekberg is 161.1  m above sea level. HN the highest point on the island of Rügen and Western Pomerania and thus the fifth highest in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

The "mountain" hardly stands out from its immediate surroundings due to the small height differences. It is located in a forest area in the northeastern part of the Jasmund peninsula , about 3 km southwest of the stump chamber in the Jasmund National Park , about 3 km east of the mouth of the Kieler Bach in the Baltic Sea and about 4 km north-northwest of the city of Sassnitz . State road  303 ( Lohme –Sassnitz) runs in sections through the National Park to the east of the Piekberg .
