history
The brook was first mentioned in 1366 as Brzozova , with the founding privilege of a new village (today Nagórzany and Nadolany, as well as Nowotaniec). In 1390 he was mentioned as Pele , a pre-form of today's name. Other earlier variants are Pella 1419, Pielica 1441, Pielnyka 1512. The German form of the name Piella has been out of use for a long time.
