history

In older and popular scientific literature, the place is often seen as the founding of the Forest Germans in the late Middle Ages , whose name is said to go back to the unusual German place name "Sehrschön" (compare the pronunciation of Zarszyn ? / I ), even the one who researched the Forest Germans and for nationalistic reasons The generous Nazi historian Kurt Lück saw insufficient evidence in the sources and traditional personal names, only indications of a German foundation and no longer mentioned the name and gave Sarschin as the German name . In reality, the city was first mentioned in 1395 as Szarschin . Later in 1434 Zarschin , Zarszin (1589), Zarschschin (1646). The name always ended clearly with the Slavic possessive suffix -in. The recently about the rural forest German settlements researching Wojciech Blajer not treated the city Zarszyn and their suburbs Posada Zarszyńska as forest German start-ups, but he saw other hand, today part of the municipality Posada Jaćmierska , the suburb of Jaćmierz as a village in The Middle Ages did not have a large, but a "small, difficult to determine or only presumable proportion of the German population".
