history

The name Posada (see also Possad , a suburb), more common in the Sanok region , but unusual in Poland, is always associated with the names of the neighboring towns (Posada Jaćmierska, Posada Zarszyńska, Posada Sanocka, etc.). This led researchers of the history of settlements in this area to the conclusion that these are the old settlements on which the cities were founded. These cities were often mentioned initially as the villages that are now called Posada, but according to researcher analysis, the names of the cities were carried over from the older settlements. In the case of Jaćmierz, this was confirmed by the mention in suburbio in Iaczymyrz alim Possada (1525). Historians suspect in Posada Jaćmierska (Jaćmierz) even the existence of a castle Walls in the time of the Principality of Halych-Volodymyr or earlier. The name was derived from the personal name Jacze (-i) mirz> Jaćmierz, Ruthenian Jačimir> Jačmir.

The present-day village Posada Jaćmierska was first mentioned as Jaczimirz in 1390, when it was given by King Władysław II Jagiełło to the German knight Fryderyk My (s) snar from Meissen . Between the years 1428 and 1436 the city ( Oppido ) with the name Jaćmierz ( Iaczymyrz ) was founded. At the same time, the village was renamed Posada, already mentioned in 1436 as Super ... opidi Iaczymyrzensis Possada seu suburbio .

The historians Adam Fastnacht and Władysław Makarski suspect that the village Posada Jaćmierska (originally Jaćmierz) as a village under Polish law as well as in the 15th century with the Polish inhabitants (with the impact of the German immigrant settlers in Jaćmierz), from the beginning ( before 1340) was Polish . According to researcher Wojciech Blajer, in the Middle Ages the village of Posada Jaćmierska had “a small, difficult to determine or only presumable proportion of German population”, which contradicts the smaller proportion of German population in the city of Jaćmierz.

Later the village was named posszada Iaczimirszka (1474), Possada superiori et inferiori (1486), Possada Maior, Possada Minor (1518), in suburbio in Iaczymyrz alim Possada (1525), na Posadzie Jacimirskiej (1638), Posada Dolnia et Wysznia ( 1721), Posada (1794), Posada Jaćmierska (1887).

When Poland was first partitioned , Posada Jaćmierska became part of the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire in 1772 (from 1804). From 1855 Posada Jaćmierska belonged to the Krosno district . In 1900 the community had 958 inhabitants, all of whom were Roman Catholic and Polish-speaking.

After the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Posada Jaćmierska came to Poland in 1918. This was only interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II . From 1975 to 1998 Posada Jaćmierska belonged to the Krosno Voivodeship .
