Pier Giorgio Micchiardi (born October 23, 1942 in Carignano ) is an Italian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of Acqui .

Life

Pier Giorgio Micchiardi was ordained a priest on June 26, 1966 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Turin and titular bishop of Macriana Maior on December 21, 1990 . The Archbishop of Turin, Giovanni Saldarini , donated him episcopal ordination on January 13 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Livio Maritano , Bishop of Acqui, and Archbishop Zenon Grocholewski , Secretary of the Apostolic Signature .

He was appointed Bishop of Acqui on December 9, 2000, and was appointed to the office on February 4, 2001.

Pier Giorgio Micchiardi is involved in numerous social projects in the Holy Land. He is a member of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem and Prior of the Commandery of Piedmont.

On January 19, 2018, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
