Pierre-Yves Trémois (born January 8, 1921 in Paris - † August 16, 2020 ) was a French painter , sculptor and illustrator .

Life

Trémois studied at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts in Paris. Trémois is known for his impressive works in the style of surrealism and for his extravagant fantasies in the illustration of books. Since 1978 he has been a member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts as the successor to Paul Lemagny .

Trémois was an honorary member of the European Cultural Foundation, to which many of his artist friends such as Salvador Dalí , Arno Breker , Leonor Fini and Roger Peyrefitte belonged until her death.
