Pierre Lepori

Pierre Lepori (* 1968 in Lugano ) is a Swiss theater and literary scholar, journalist , translator , writer and theater director .

Live and act

Pierre Lepori studied language and literature in Siena . He received his doctorate in theater studies from the University of Bern . His dissertation was published as an essay entitled Il teatro nella Svizzera italiana: la generazione dei fondatori (1932-1987) and received the Migros Prize in 2005. He also wrote a biography of the Swiss director Alberto Canetta ( Alberto Canetta: la traversata del teatro , 2007). He was also the head of the Italian-language editorship of the Swiss Theater Lexicon .

In 2004, Lepori received a single work award from the Swiss Schiller Foundation for his poetic debut Qualunque sia il nome . His first novel Grisù was published in 2007. In 2011 his second novel Sessualità followed. This was published at the same time by three publishers in three national languages, additionally, as a Swiss novelty, in a limited edition in three languages.

Lepori is also a translator from French into Italian ( Monique Laederach , Gustave Roud , Claude Ponti ). He was editor of the magazines for Swiss literature Feuxcroisés and Viceversa literature (2006 to 2010). He was one of the initiators of the online literature portal www.culturactif.ch and founded the queer magazine Hétérographe, revue des homolittératures ou pas in 2009 .

Lepori lives and works in Lausanne . He works for the cultural stations of the Swiss radio station Espace 2 and Rete Due .
