Pieter de Keyser
Pieter de Keyser (* approx. 1595 in Amsterdam ; † September 15, 1676 buried there) was a Dutch builder and sculptor. He continued to run Hendrick de Keyser 's father's business after his death and finished some of the buildings his father had started during his lifetime.
Life
Pieter de Keyser was the son of Hendrick de Keyser and his wife Beyken van Wilderen (* 1569 in Antwerp, buried on November 23, 1621 in Amsterdam). He had three brothers, Willem and Hendrick, also sculptors, and Thomas , who became a painter.
He was married three times, 1623 with Magdalena Geens, 1625 with Magdalena Jacobs and 1639 with Catharina Beghin of Bagijn. Descendants are not known. A son is known from his third marriage, Cornelis de Keyser, baptized on June 29, 1642 in Amsterdam, who became a merchant.

On behalf of his father, Pieter de Keyser took over the construction of Huis Bartolotti on Amsterdam's Herengracht (today Herengracht 170-172) around 1617 . After his father's death in 1621, he succeeded him as a town sculptor and completed the Westerkerk , the Noorderkerk and the Huis met de hoofden on the Keizersgracht (today's house number 123). He also finished the mausoleum for William of Orange, which his father had begun in 1614 in the Delft Nieuwe Kerk . He finished the work in 1622. He also designed the monument to Erasmus of Rotterdam on the Delft market square.
His other works include the Saaihal in Amsterdam's Staalstraat from 1641 and the building on Kalverstraat that now houses the Amsterdam Historical Museum . The Accijnshuis from 1637 is mainly attributed to Jacob van Campen ; possibly the design was made by Peter de Keyser.
The English Nicholas Stone was apprenticed to Hendrick and Pieter de Keyser from 1603 to 1613.
