Pietro Sernagiotto (actually Pedro Sernagiotto ; born November 17, 1908 in São Paulo ; † April 5, 1965 ibid) was a Brazilian - Italian football player .

Sernagiotto, son of Friulian emigrants, played as right winger . Although he was only 1.53 m tall and therefore gracefully built, he was primarily known for his precise flanks , his powerful shots as well as for speed and sprinting strength. His nickname was “Ministrinho” ( “Little Minister” ).

Career

Pietro Sernagiotto moved to Italy to join Juventus Turin in 1930 . Due to a suspension, he only made his debut on September 18, 1932 in the 2: 3 against US Alessandria in Serie A and became a regular in the legendary Quinquennio d'Oro team in the following years . His honest character earned him respect and many friends within the team, such as B. Luis Monti or Luigi Bertolini . Nevertheless, he always had strong competition in his position on the right wing, at Juve he was gradually ousted by Federico Munerati , in the Italian national team other South Americans of Italian origin , such as Anfilogino Guarisi or Enrique Guaita , were preferred to him. He played a total of 60 games for Juve , scored 16 goals and celebrated three Italian championships .

His only game for Italy, but only a B international match, Sernagiotto completed on October 22, 1933 in a 4: 4 against the Hungarian B-Elf in Vercelli .

In 1934 Pietro Sernagiotto went back to Brazil, where he played for a few years for his hometown club Palestra Italia (now Palmeiras) .

Pietro Sernagiotto died suddenly in 1965 at the age of 56.
