The Pigeon Lake is a pond in Manitowoc County .
It is about midway between Manitowoc and Kiel near the Town of Liberty .
Its area is 86 acres (34.8 hectares ) and the length of the shore 1.6 miles (2.57 kilometers). The mean depth is 20 feet (6 meters) with a maximum of 60 feet (18.3 meters). The bottom of the lake is essentially humus with around 15 percent gravel. The eastern bank is steeper than the western. Public access is in the northeast. The lake is known for its use with boats and for water skiing. It is also used intensively for fishing. The most important fish species include eyeglasses , pike and largemouth bass .
In the summer months, algal blooms are detected, which is monitored with a Secchi disk . The invasive species that have been observed are frizzy pondweed , spiky thousand leaf and the mongoose .
