Pilar Fuertes Ferragut

Pilar Fuertes Ferragut (born July 19, 1962 in Valencia , † April 2, 2012 in Walvis Bay ) was a Spanish diplomat .

Life

Pilar Fuertes Ferragut studied law and joined the foreign service in 1992. She headed the communications media department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She was Embassy Secretary in Bangkok , Thailand , Deputy Ambassador in Beirut , Jakarta and Guatemala City .

From 2004 to 2008 she headed the Pacific, Southeast Asia and Philippines Department at the Department of Foreign Affairs.

On November 8, 2008, she was appointed ambassador to Harare , Zimbabwe . On September 28, 2009, she was appointed ambassador to the government in Lilongwe , Malawi and on June 11, 2010 to the government in Lusaka , Zambia , based in Harare . On April 2, 2012, she was killed in a car accident while on vacation in Namibia .
