The river rises southwest of Corsica in Limestone Township and flows mainly in a northwest direction through a hilly and wooded area, passing Limestone and Reidsburg . It now crosses under the Pennsylvania State Route 2007 and flows into the Clarion River from the left. The most important tributaries are the Little Piney Creek and the Brush Run , both of which flow in from the right.
