Pinkus Müller brewery
The private brewery Pinkus Müller is the last of what used to be more than 150 Altbier breweries and the only malt house in Münster .
history
Johannes Müller (1792–1871) came to Münster from Hildebrandshausen in 1816 , married Friederika Cramer there and set up a bakery and brewery at Kreuzstrasse 10 . In 1866 the bakery was closed and a malt house started operating instead. The namesake Carl "Pinkus" Müller (1899–1979) was also known as a singer during the Nazi era. Over time, the range of beers has been expanded more and more.
The brewery only uses raw materials from controlled organic cultivation . Currently, 20,000 hectoliters of beer are produced each year , 80% of which is bottled. Traditional Münster food is offered in the adjoining restaurant.
The managing directors Barbara Müller and Hans Müller were awarded the City of Münster's 2011 Business Prize on May 17, 2011, following a decision by the council .

Trivia
In the song Liebe Stadt im Lindenkranze (melody: Heidelberg Du Jugendbrunnen ), student associations sing an additional stanza in which it says:
Anyone who has never looked in the eye / Mägdelein from Münster / Who has never stolen the signs / Can not be a Münsteraner. / Anyone who doesn't know Stuhlmacher's drop / And the bull's head, / ||: And Pinkus Müller 's hops, / Was never a student in Münster. : ||
In the repetition of the last two lines, the hop is replaced by the daughter .
