Pio de Freitas Silveira CM (born April 29, 1885 in Campina Verde , Minas Gerais , Brazil , † May 19, 1963 ) was a Roman Catholic religious and bishop of Joinville .

Life

Pio de Freitas Silveira joined the Lazaristenorden at and received on 13 June 1908, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

Pope Pius XI appointed him on January 25, 1929 first bishop of the diocese of Joinville established a few days earlier . The Archbishop of Diamantina , Joaquim Silvério de Souza , donated him episcopal ordination on June 9 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were João Antônio Pimenta , Bishop of Montes Claros , and Antônio José dos Santos CM, Auxiliary Bishop in Diamantina.

Pope Pius XII accepted on January 19, 1955 his renunciation of the diocese of Joinville and appointed him titular bishop of Voncaria .
