Piquepoul Gris
Piquepoul Gris is a white wine with gray to rose-colored grapes, which is permitted in French wines. It is recommended for the entire south ( Provence and Languedoc ), but rarely used.
The grape makes very acidic wines. The vine owes its name to the acidity; Piquepoul translates as lip bite or lip stick . There are 2 approved clones, the numbers 71 and 293. The Piquepoul Bouschet grape variety was created by crossing Piquepoul Gris and Petit Bouschet .
