Pirovac is a municipality in the Šibenik-Knin County in Croatia .

Location and inhabitants

Pirovac is a coastal town on the Dalmatian coast, between Zadar and Šibenik . In 2011 there were 1,704 inhabitants in Pirovac. Together with Kašić (126 inhabitants) and Putičanje (100 inhabitants), 1930 people live in the entire municipality.

Together with the towns of Vodice , Murter and Primošten , Pirovac is part of the Šibenik Riviera.

history

The place was first mentioned as Zlosela in 1298 when it was owned by nobles from Bribir . The settlement was founded in the 15th century. The St. George Church was built in 1506.
