The Piz Lischana ( 3105.4 m above sea level ) is a summit in the Lower Engadine Dolomites that is relatively easy to climb for its height . The easiest route leads from San-Jon (1420 m, reachable from Scuol , on the opposite side of the Inn ) via the Lischanahütte ( Vallader : Chamonna Lischana , 2500 m above sea level ), surefootedness is a requirement when climbing the summit.
,On July 31, 2011, a rock fall occurred on Piz Lischana, in which 2000 cubic meters of rock on the eastern side of the summit tower broke off. More rockfalls were feared, so the summit area was closed until 2016.
The Lischana glacier covered the 4 square kilometer plateau between the Piz Lischana and the Lai da Rims (German: Rims lakes ) until the 20th century . The former plateau glacier has now disappeared except for two relics, the small Vadret da Triazza glacier below the summit and the relic above the Lischana hut , which is still known as Vadret Lischana.
