Location of Platschow in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania

Platschow is a district of the municipality of Ziegendorf in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . Until the reclassification to Ziegendorf on August 1, 1992, Platschow belonged to the municipality of Berge in the district of Perleberg and thus to the state of Brandenburg . Since 2003 the place has been officially known as the "Elephant Village" (see sights ).

Geography and transport links

Platschow is located south of the core town of Ziegendorf on the L 082 state road . The state border with Brandenburg runs not far to the south and east. The protected landscape area Ruhner Berge extends northeast and runs along the A 24 .
