The Pleinfelder Tor is the last existing city ​​gate of the former city ​​fortifications of the city of Ellingen in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen . The gate has the address Pleinfelder Straße 31 and is in the north of the old town of Ellingen . The building is registered under the monument number D-5-77-125-68 as an architectural monument in the Bavarian monument list.

The previous building was from the 16th century; the current early baroque building dates from 1660, making it the oldest part of the city fortifications. The gate tower, which is flanked by two round towers , is located at the highest point in the old town of Ellingen . The massive Pleinfelder Tor is adorned with the coat of arms of the Teutonic Order . Today there is a local history museum and a toy museum in the gate . The building is part of the Ellinger Barockrundweg .
