Pneu Laurent is a French company that industrially retreads tires . It is also a subsidiary of the Michelin group. The headquarters are in Avallon ( Burgundy ). The only German plant was located in Oranienburg , Brandenburg , north of Berlin . The company is the largest French retreading service provider and European market leader in the reconditioning of truck tires.

Company figures

Around 800 people are employed at the two production sites in Europe, 210 of them in Oranienburg. The company's total production capacity is more than 5000 units, or around 82 tons of recycled tires per day. On a yearly basis, around 1.4 million truck and EM tires and prefabricated treads are sold. There are sales offices in France, Germany , Austria , Poland , Denmark , Belgium , Luxembourg , the Netherlands , the Czech Republic and Switzerland .

Special technology

The Pneu Laurent company uses the RCL cold retreading technology to manufacture the treads . RCL stands for recycling . Together with RECAMIC, also a subsidiary of the Michelin group, these are sold on the world market under the name MICHELIN Retread Technologies .

The RCL cold retreading process is only used for truck tires. For this purpose, the tire is given a tread that has already been vulcanized in a flat press. This is then placed on the carcass with a binding rubber compound and vulcanized in an autoclave . With this process almost all types of tires on the market can be retreaded and specific market needs can also be taken into account. This process, developed by the company itself, is unique in the world and increases mileage by up to 14 percent compared to conventional cold retreaded tires.

Company history
