The Počátecký vrch (German origin Berg ) in Počátky (German origin ) in the Czech Republic is in to popular division with 819 meters the highest elevation in Elstergebirge . It lies near the border with Germany and is wooded up to the summit.

The name of the mountain is derived from the fact that several streams have their source (origin) on its slopes. Zadní Liboc and Přední Liboc, the two source streams of the Libocký potok (German rear and front Leibitschbach ), arise in the southwest and south . The Markhausener Bach flows to the east to the Zwota (Zwodau). On the west side of the Erlbach district of Landesgemeinde there are several small sources of the Schwarzbach .

The "Ursprungberg" is mentioned as early as 1150 as the north-eastern border point that separates the Regensburg, Prague and Naumburg diocese. It also marked the northernmost border point of the old Egerland .
