Hans Podiuk (born September 18, 1946 in Munich ) is a German local politician ( CSU ).

Life

Hans Podiuk attended the business school and worked as a graduate in administration at the Bavarian State Ministry for the Environment, Health and Consumer Protection.

Podiuk was first elected to the Munich City Council on March 5, 1978 , and has been a member of it ever since. In May 1987 he became deputy group chairman, from May 1995 to December 2006 he was group chairman. Since his handover to Josef Schmid , he has been deputy parliamentary group chairman and parliamentary group manager. Podiuk is a member of the Urban Planning and Building Regulations Committee, the Municipal Committee and the Riem Advisory Board (which deals with the planning and development of the trade fair town of Riem ).

Podiuk candidate at the Munich Mayor election on March 3, 2002, compared incumbent Christian Ude ( SPD ) after the CSU Bundestag Aribert Wolf had withdrawn his candidacy surprisingly on 28 October 2,001th Ude received 64.5% of the vote in the first ballot, Podiuk 29.2%.

On May 26, 2003 Podiuk was overthrown after 16 years as CSU district chairman in the south-east of Munich. With 36 to 63 votes he was defeated by City Councilor Christian Baretti . Later it turned out that this fall was planned long in advance by his internal party opponents and was part of the Munich CSU affair . As a result of this and other affairs, Baretti was expelled from the CSU city council faction and preceded party exclusion proceedings through resignation.

Podiuk has been a member of the administrative board of the Association of Taxpayers in Bavaria since 1982 , and has been its chairman since 2010.

In 1996 Podiuk received the municipal medal of merit in bronze, in 1998 the Federal Cross of Merit with ribbon. In 2008 he was honored with the Golden Citizen Medal of the City of Munich , and in 2009 with the silver medal for special services to local government.

Podiuk is married.
