course

The creek originates near the German-Czech border, in the vicinity of here in a re-entrant angle Erzgebirgs - ridgeline runs. First it flows north, then around the 962 m high Písková skála ( sand rock ), a small granite island , counterclockwise in the softer phyllite . Behind Podlesí it takes in from the right the Preißhausbach flowing in from the Saxon side . At the "Ekopa" paper mill it flows into the black water.

Mining

So-called "Raithalden", which testify to tin soap, extend over several hundred meters.

For several centuries the brook was the subject of intensive soap mining for tin. Along the way there are still numerous, large Raithalden evidence of this activity. The origin of the pewter stone is unknown. However, the granite of the sand rock, a particularly Li-rich Stockscheider granite, is a probable source.

The beginning of soap mining is unknown. But as early as 1554 the area was called "old soap". It is believed that tin soaps, like elsewhere in the region, appeared as early as the 14th century. On a smaller scale, there was also underground mining in the area.
