Pogledets Island (English; Bulgarian остров Погледец ostrow Pogledez ) is an ice-free, elevated, north-south orientation 200 m long and 170 m wide island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . As the northernmost of the Dunbar Islands off the northeast coast of Livingston Island , it is 0.86 km northeast of Zavala Island , 0.45 km northwest of Aspis Island and 1.45 km of Williams Point .
British scientists mapped them in 1968, Bulgarian ones in 2009. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named them in 2013 after mountains in the Rila - and in the Balkan Mountains in Bulgaria .
