history

The stream, whose name was first mentioned in 1524 with Pohorzie , flowed through the dense beech forests of the Fagosilvanum at that time. In 1693, Philipp Emanuel Graf Buquoy had the first forest glassworks built on Gratzen near Schanz, which was later followed by others. In the 18th century the valley was settled and the stream was prepared for timber rafting. In addition, the Georgenteich was created as a water reservoir and the floodplain in Leopoldsdorf.

After the fall of the Iron Curtain, the drained Georgenteich was repaired and dammed again.
