Poker Masters
The Poker Masters is a poker tournament series that has been played five times so far. It was played once a year at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas from 2017 to 2019 and took place online twice in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic . The played tournaments have buy-ins of at least 10,000 US dollars and are of Poker Central organized.
structure
In the tournaments, the No Limit Hold'em variant is played almost exclusively . Due to the buy-in of at least 10,000 US dollars are to be found only the world's best poker players as well as rich businessmen in the tournaments. The most successful player in an event receives a purple jacket , the so-called Poker Masters Purple Jacket ™ . At the first event, this was determined using the amount of prize money and the German player Steffen Sontheimer secured the award. A points system was introduced for the 2018 event, which has been used to determine the winner of the Purple Jacket since then. All tournaments are played with a 30-second shot clock, which means that each player only has 30 seconds of time available for his actions. All events are broadcast live on the paid online platform PokerGO .
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , the tournament series with 30 events was held in the online poker room partypoker in April 2020 under the name Poker Masters Online . At the end of June 2020 there was another online event in which only the Pot Limit Omaha variant was played.
