Alexandros Kolonias ( Greek Αλέξανδρος Κολώνιας , born April 28, 1986 in Volos ) is a professional Greek poker player . He won the Main Event of the World Series of Poker Europe in 2019 and the Purple Jacket ™ of the Poker Masters Online in 2020 .

Personal

Kolonias played tennis in his youth . As part of the Greek national team, he played as a 14-year-old at the European Championships against the later world number one Novak Đoković and won a set against him. Later Kolonias played professional backgammon . He studied at the University of Physical Education in Budapest and also worked as a tennis coach. Kolonias lives in London .

Poker career

In April 2020 Kolonias won two tournaments at the first Poker Masters Online on partypoker , secured prize money of more than 1.2 million US dollars and was named the most successful player in the tournament series with the Purple Jacket ™ and a bonus of 50,000 US dollars.
