Almedin "Ali" Imširović (born January 29, 1995 in Zenica ) is a professional Bosnian - American poker player .

Career

Imširović plays on the online poker platform Americas Cardroom under the nickname ali23imsirovic . Since 2015 he has been participating in renowned live tournaments .

Imširović was in June 2017 for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas successful and came in three tournaments of the variant No-Limit Hold'em in the money. In mid-November 2017 he reached the final table at the main event of the WSOP circuit at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas and took fourth place, which earned him prize money of just under 85,000 US dollars . In January 2018, Imširović won a tournament as part of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventures in the Bahamas and secured a prize money of around 160,000 US dollars. At the end of April 2018, he also won the main event of the Borgata Spring Poker Open in Atlantic City and received prize money of just under 250,000 US dollars due to a deal with Farid Jattin . In September 2018 Imširović played at the Poker Masters at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. He won the fifth and sixth events , made it into the money three times and secured prize money of almost 1.3 million US dollars. Because of this achievement, he was named the most successful player in the series with a purple jacket , the Poker Masters Purple Jacket ™ . In mid-November 2018, Imširović took third place in the Super High Roller at the partypoker Caribbean Poker Party in Nassau , Bahamas, and received prize money of 400,000 US dollars. In December 2018, he played for the first time at the Super High Roller Bowl at Aria Resort & Casino and finished in seventh place, worth $ 540,000. In mid-February 2019, Imširović won the fifth event of the US Poker Open played at Aria Resort & Casino and secured a prize of almost 450,000 US dollars. In early April 2019, he was named Breakout Player of the Year 2018 at the Global Poker Awards . In late May 2019 , Imširović reached his first WSOP final table and finished second in the Super Turbo Bounty for more than $ 210,000. In September 2019, he finished second at the Super High Roller Bowl in London and received his highest prize money to date of the equivalent of more than 1.1 million US dollars. In December 2019, Imširović won the High Roller of the Five Diamond World Poker Classic at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas and secured a prize of 600,000 US dollars.

In total, Imširović has earned almost 9 million US dollars with poker in live tournaments , making him the most successful Bosnian poker player .
