Sam W. Soverel (born August 3, 1990 in West Palm Beach , Florida ) is a professional American poker player .

Soverel has earned more than $ 13.5 million in poker in live tournaments . He won the British Poker Championship and the Poker Masters Purple Jacket ™ in 2019 . In addition, he is the record winner with 17 tournament victories at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas .

Personal

Soverel grew up in West Palm Beach in the US state of Florida . As a teenager he played chess and the real-time strategy game StarCraft . He later studied economics at the University of Florida at Gainesville , but dropped out after a little over a year due to his poker career. Soverel has lived in Las Vegas since 2012 .

Soverel plays online under the nickname BareZareKare . Since 2011 he has been participating in renowned live tournaments .

In mid-November 2011 Soverel finished second at the Main Event of the World Poker Tour (WPT) in Orange Park and received almost 200,000 US dollars in prize money. In July 2012 he was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and finished 81st in the main event for around 80,000 US dollars. In mid-October 2014, Soverel won the fourth Aria Super High Roller at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas with a prize of just under 500,000 US dollars. In the same place, he won the Aria High Roller 23 for over 300,000 US dollars in January 2016 . In early March 2016, Soverel sat at the final table of the WPT LA Poker Classic in Los Angeles , finishing in fourth place for more than $ 300,000. In the WSOP 2016 he won a tournament in the variant PLO and thus a secured bracelet and nearly $ 200,000 in prize money. At the end of October 2016, Soverel won an event at the Aria Resort & Casino for the third time and for his success at the Aria Super High Roller 12 received his highest prize money to date of over one million US dollars. He now has 17 wins in tournaments at Aria Casino, making him a record winner. At the 2019 WSOP , he finished third in the $ 50,000 high roller event and received more than $ 640,000. When Final Fifty of the series, he also made the final table and finished second for just under a million dollars in prize money. In September 2019, Soverel made five money placements at the British Poker Open in London . He won u. a. the fifth and eighth event and secured prize money of almost one million US dollars. With that he collected the most tournament points of all players over the ten tournaments and won the British Poker Championship . In November 2019, Soverel won the seventh and tenth event of the Poker Masters . Overall, he placed in the tournament series seven times in the money and won prize money of around 1.4 million US dollars. He collected more tournament points than any other player and received the Poker Masters Purple Jacket ™ as well as an additional bonus of 100,000 US dollars.
