Ponte Novu (French Ponte-Novo , Italian Ponte Nuovo ) is a village in northeast Corsica . It belongs to the municipality of Castello-di-Rostino in the Corte arrondissement of the Haute-Corse department . Ponte Novu is 167  m above sea level on the bridge of the RN 193 over the Golo on the Bastia - Corte route and has 50 inhabitants. In 1769 the battle of Ponte Novu took place here .
