The Pope Mountain is a 1,345 m high mountain at the Oates Coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Wilson Hills it rises 5 km southeast of Governor Mountain in the immediate vicinity of the area where the Tomilin Glacier was formed.
The area was mapped through the United States Geological Survey and aerial photography from the United States Navy from 1960 to 1963. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the mountain in 1970 after Lieutenant Thomas J. Pope of the US Navy Reserve Forces, navigator aboard a Lockheed LC-130F as part of Operation Deep Freeze in 1968.
