Poppenreut is a district of Jandelsbrunn in the Lower Bavarian district of Freyung-Grafenau .

geography

The village of Poppenreut is located east of the FRG 3 district road about one and a half kilometers south of Hintereben .

history

Unlike the seven Künischen villages , Poppenreut belonged to the rule Leoprechting in the Principality of Passau, while the seven Künischen villages from 1506 to 1765 with their rule Rannariedl a. d. Danube were Austrian. Nevertheless, Poppenreut is recorded in the Rannariedlische letter protocols of the Heindlschlag office , later the Jandelsbrunn Nursing Court .

Poppenreuth is first mentioned in a document in 1250. The peasants paid royal taxes; This suggests that it was founded around 1200, making Poppenreut the oldest village in the Jandelsbrunn community next to Reichling and was mentioned around 300 years earlier than the Künischen villages. The name is reminiscent of Bishop Poppo , who ruled Passau from 1204 to 1206 .

tourism

There has been an 18-hole golf course in Poppenreut since 1998 .
