The Portuguese paradise lily ( Paradisea lusitanica ) is a species of plant from the subfamily of the agave family (Agavoideae).
features
The Portuguese lily of paradise is a perennial herbaceous plant . It is stronger than the white funnel lily ( Paradisea liliastrum ). The stem is 80 to 120 centimeters long. The leaves are 30 to 40 centimeters long and 7 to 20 millimeters wide.
The non-nodding, dense, racemose inflorescence has 20 to 25 flowers . The flower stems are about as long as the bracts. The flowers are 20 to 25 millimeters long. The bracts are 15 to 20 millimeters in size.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 32 or 64.
Occurrence
The Portuguese paradise lily occurs in northwestern Spain and northern Portugal. It grows in forests, on grassland and in wetlands.
