action

Ryan, who has been married for a year, takes his brother Roman in, who was recently released from prison. Ryan's wife, Jess, feels extremely uncomfortable around Roman's presence. Her behavior scares her.

One day the brothers have a serious car accident. Jess is devastated, she was always afraid of losing her husband. But there is still hope. Both men are in a coma. Roman wakes up from a coma after a year due to minor injuries. The doctors treat his delusions and amnesia, then he is discharged. Jess is supposed to take him back to her house, a familiar environment is supposed to help reactivate the memory. Sullen, she gives Roman shelter.

Roman begins to copy Ryan's behavior so that one can soon speak of an impersonation. Jess' defensive behavior wanes after a while. Ryan's gentle nature, his loving nature, his romantic streak, his attachment come to the fore in Roman and ultimately change her mind. She now sees her husband in Roman. Roman can't do anything with his former girlfriend Casey. He says she is completely unknown to him. He loves Jess now.

When Jessica finally trusts him and even a child is on the way, Roman's rough traits come to the fore again. He kills his jealous ex-girlfriend Casey and then becomes violent towards Jess. She can kill him with a sharp tool while Roman is in the process of strangling her in her husband's studio.

Jess ends the pregnancy without any problems - the baby is born healthy. And with Ryan there is hope again. His condition is stable.

History of origin

The film was shot in Vancouver, Canada. criticism

“Possession is a quiet film that doesn't, as the cover suggests, goes in the direction of the […] Asia remakes of Der Fluch and The Ring. The ideal world is spread out with lots of calm nuances and no hectic pace, only to be destroyed with a bang. Possession is an experienced, well-made film with an original idea. That’s a lot nowadays. "
