Poverty's No Crime is a German progressive metal band from Twistringen , which was founded in 1991.

history

The band was founded in 1991 by singer and guitarist Volker Walsemann, guitarist Marco Ahrens, bassist Christian Scheele, keyboardist Marcello Maniscalco and drummer Andreas Tegeler. In 1993 and 1994 the first two demos followed with My Favorite Delusion and Perfect Wings . In 1992 the band won the Newcomer Rock Festival hosted by radio station Ffn . This was followed by appearances, so that the band played as an opening act for groups such as Depressive Age and Waltari . In the mid-1990s, the band signed a contract with the Berlin label Noise Records . The band recorded their debut album "Symbiosis" in the T&T Studios in Gelsenkirchen with producer John McGowan . The album was released in the spring of 1995. After the release, the band began work on The Autumn Years , which was released in the spring of 1996. This was followed by appearances in Europe together with Victory , Virgin Steele and Angra . Despite the numerous appearances, Noise Records separated from the band, so that the group was initially again without the support of a label. This was followed by other appearances, including with Skyclad .

From January 1997 the band began to write new pieces and also reached a contract with InsideOut Music , about which the album Slave To The Mind was released in the same year . Towards the end of the year the line-up of the band changed a lot, as keyboardist Marcello Maniscalco and bassist Christian Scheele left the band. The band continued to write new songs and went to the studio to record the album One In a Million . Shortly before the recordings, Jörg Springub, a new keyboard player, joined the band. The album was released in June 2001. Shortly after the release, bassist Heiko Spaarmann joined the cast. Appearances with Vanden Plas , Zero Hour , Pain of Salvation and Anathema followed .

After two years the band went to the Soundgarten Studio to record a new album, which was released in Europe and North America in late October 2001 under the name The Chemical Chaos .

The album Save My Soul was released in 2007 through InsideOut Music.

After a long break, the band returned with their seventh regular album Spiral of Fear at the end of April 2016 .

style

The band plays particularly melodic progressive metal, with influences from hard rock also being audible. The music is comparable to the works of bands like Dream Theater and Threshold .
