The Prägratkees (formerly Landegg Ferner ) is a glacier in the Granatspitzgruppe in the district of Lienz (East Tyrol), municipality of Matrei in East Tyrol .

The Prägratkees is located on the western slopes between the Stubacher Sonnblick ( 3088  m above sea level ), Granatspitze ( 3086  m above sea level ) and the north-west summit of the Kalser Bärenkopf ( 3037  m above sea level ). In the north, the Prägratkees extends in the area of the Granatscharte ( 2945  m above sea level ) up to the connecting ridge between Sonnblick and Granatspitze, where it collides with the Sonnblickkees to the east . In the southern area on the Keeswinkelscharte ( 2942  m above sea level ) on the ridge between Granatspitze and Bärenkopf, however, there is no connection to the eastern Granatspitzkees . The largest west-east expansion reaches the Prägratkees with almost 600 meters in the area of the Keeswinkelscharte. The Prägratkees drains to the southeast into the Landeggbach , the water of which is largely diverted into the Tauernmoos reservoir of the Stubachtal power plant group .

At the beginning of the 1870s, the Prägratkees still extended across its entire width to the wall step at around 2600 meters and advanced in the southeast to around 2500 meters. In the course of the glacier retreat, the glacier retreated sharply, especially in the northeast, where it reached as far as the Prägratwand. In the middle of the 20th century, the glacier still reached down to 2,700 meters, at its deepest point to 2,640 meters. By the 2010s, the Prägratkees withdrew to over 2,800 meters in most areas.
