Academy of Performing Arts in Prague , Czech Academy múzických umění v Praze , or AMU for short , is the largest Czech university for music , theater and film , based in Prague .

Its beginnings go back to the time of the Second World War. However, it was only erected after the war at the suggestion of numerous important artists with the presidential decree No. 127/1945 Sb. In 1945. The AMU is based in the Hartig Palace on the Kleinseitner Ring .
